Chronic Granulomatous Disorder (CGD)

Chronic granulomatous disease is an inherited abnormality of certain cells of the immune system.   These cells have difficulty forming the reactive oxygen compounds used to kill bacteria. Chronic granulomatous disease causes repeated bacterial infections, and without treatment, the disease can be fatal.
